“All I ever really want to know is how other people are making it through life—where do they put their body, hour by hour, and how do they cope inside of it.”
my tenets of hot girl summer (a life embodying my values) :
- more freedom in my body. who cares if my shirt rode up and my belly is showing? my body is to be lived in, not viewed.
- desire openly and let myself be desired. i am hot. other people are hot. let myself look.
- more childlike joy. think about how absolutely wonderful every single thing in this world is. think about all that had to happen for this cold can of beer to be in my hands.
- less judgement. does this situation really need a snarky comment?
- less self deprecation. does this situation really need a snarky comment?
- know that everyone else has a story. look for love in it. do not make assumptions.
people who have not worked in the service industry in years (if at all, ever) will be like “you have to work SATURDAYS? 😰” yeah man things you guys go to are open those days. So there i must fucking be
me when one of my girlmutuals posts about how they got a little coffee beverage or took a nice walk or started a book they’ve been meaning to read for a while or otherwise found meaning and joy in simple pleasures
